The continuous bombing of Gaza is a crime against humanity. There can be absolutely no justification for the killing or thousands of civilians.

The support for the Israel Defense Force’s deadly military operation in Gaza by the Biden administration is also a crime. US support for Israel perpetuates the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

The large protests against Israel across the world is a demonstration of the revulsion felt by millions of people at what is happening in Gaza.

Condemn all war crimes

Socialists condemn all war crimes. The bombing of Gaza by Israel, as well as the initial horrific murders in Israel by Hamas.

There should be no support for Hamas’s barbaric actions. It is clear that Hamas was able to mount such a well organized and unexpected attack only because of significant support it enjoys among residents of Gaza. But this support is a result of the utter hopelessness and desperation that Israel’s policies have imposed on them.

Many environmental activists have joined the anti-Israel protests. Of course, prominent activists such as Greta Thunberg have been attacked by pro-Israel media and politicians. Many other people, particularly in the US, have been victimized because of their vocal opposition to the bombings.

Socialists demand the ending of US support for Israel. The particular criticism of the Israeli state is because of its horrendous policies of forced displacement of Palestinians from their land and their homes, and the disproportionate brutality of its military operations.

Only a single, democratic and non-sectarian state will be able to bring about a just peace for all Israelis and Palestinians.
